Hi I’m Stella Woodward ‘The Vegan Coach’
Our Story; I say our story as I am The Vegan Coach but this is very much a family affair along with my husband Graham and daughter Iris. I suppose it’s with Iris where the story began. We discovered that she is intolerant to dairy produce so that sent me off on a one woman crusade devouring as much knowledge as I could about how our food choices impact our health. I feel that we’ve always eaten ‘healthfully’ but the new found information I was consuming was turning all of that on it’s head. We quickly quit dairy produce which then evolved into us adopting a plant based diet as a family. As a result of the new way of eating Iris’ health and behaviour improved and so did the quality of our lives.
Along the plant based journey I found it difficult to find information, help and advice to incorporate vegan foods into the family diet. Child friendly options were hard to come by, we all know how fussy kids can be around foods in particular, vegetables. Iris is not fussy by the standards of most but it was tricky non the less . Not wanting to resort to processed or junk foods, which in my opinion can be as bad for health as animal produce, I’ve spent years creating and adapting my own recipes to suit family meal times knowing I am nourishing the whole family with whole plant based foods.
Graham and I like to exercise but found when switching to a plant based diet our performance in the gym slipped a little and I lost some muscle and strength. I’ve had to educate myself on how to hit those targets on a plant based diet, how to fuel our bodies correctly for the activities we love and to achieve the bodies we want.
Along with my passion for positive mindset, looking after my mental health and that of my family, I feel like The Vegan Coach was born. My aim is to help and serve individuals and families just like us who want to live a healthier plant based lifestyle, fit exercise into their routine and thrive with a positive mindset.
